The City of Miamisburg is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a $10.25 million redesign of Sycamore Trails Park. This newly updated 75-acre park will include basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, larger shelters, new playgrounds, a new pond, an enhanced disc golf course and much more.
We invite you to join us for the Grand Opening on Saturday, September 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. After nearly 25 years of planning, two years of dedicated effort and significant community input and support, the transformation of this park, originally dedicated to the city in 1970, has finally been realized.
The project was primarily funded by the city’s General Fund reserves, with a smaller portion of the costs being covered through debt financing. Furthermore, the city has applied for several grants and worked alongside the Miamisburg Community Foundation’s Community Fund to secure approximately $665,000 for the project thus far.
“Sycamore Trails Park is where nature meets community – welcoming families, friends and neighbors to explore, play and connect,” said Ryan Davis, Parks & Recreation Director. “With this project, we have continued our transformation of parks in Miamisburg. In doing so, we have created more than just a park – we have built a place for memories and experiences, a place for the community to enjoy the outdoors and a place the community can be proud of.”
The event will feature food trucks, a community picnic (bring your own packed lunch), basketball, pickleball and tennis tournaments with prizes for the winners, golf cart tours of the park, a fishing derby, face painting, a yoga class and much more.
This event will take place rain or shine.
