The Miamisburg Police Department welcomed Bolo, a new K9 officer to the team. 
Bolo, a dual-purpose K9, joins the department replacing K9 Buck, who retired after 6 years with the police department. Bolo is a 13-month-old German Shepherd and will partner with Officer Bryan Klein.
Bolo will spend about two months at a K9 Training Academy beginning September 2, 2024. Upon completion of the training, Officer Klein and Bolo will begin working on the road together.
The Matt Haverkamp Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2005, donated Bolo to the department. The Foundation was created in remembrance of former K9 police officer, Matt Haverkamp. The mission of the Foundation is to continue Matt Haverkamp’s legacy and keep his memory alive by supporting the law enforcement agencies in communities in the greater Cincinnati area.
