The City of Miamisburg’s Parks & Recreation Director wins 2024 National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) Spotlight Award.
Ryan Davis, Parks & Recreation Director was the winner of the Dirk Richwine Professional Mentoring Award. This award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions through mentoring of individuals and organizations to strengthen the field by helping other professionals grow, develop, and flourish and by better preparing the next generation of parks and recreation leaders.
“To be recognized at the national level as a person that is having an impact on the profession is an incredible honor,” Ryan Davis said. “I am greatly humbled by this award. I had the great fortune to know Dirk before he passed and he taught me the power that can come from mentoring, coaching and serving others.”
Davis has been in his current position since 2020. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He graduated from the National Recreation and Park Association’s Revenue Development and Management School in 2018 and is a certified Parks and Recreation Professional and Aquatic Facility Operator.
