The city of Miamisburg is excited to announce the completion of a fully redesigned neighborhood playground, representing a significant investment in local recreation and enhancing the quality of life. The Sixth & Pearl Playlot has been completely transformed, providing a safe, modern and inclusive environment for families and children of all abilities.

The project was primarily funded by a $212,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from Montgomery County, along with an additional $53,000 in local funds contributed by the city.

The new playground includes a diverse range of amenities aimed at promoting active play and community interaction, such as:Sixth & Pearl Ribbon Cutting

  • Swings, slides, climbing structures and a dynamic spin station
  • ADA-compliant rubber safety surfacing to ensure accessibility and prevent injuries
  • New benches for caregivers and visitors
  • A design that is 100% handicap-accessible to guarantee inclusive play for everyone
  • Replacement of the perimeter fence to enhance security and visual appeal

This essential upgrade addresses the needs of a neighborhood that currently lacks easily accessible public play areas. The enhancements are in direct alignment with the goals and objectives of the Miamisburg Parks Master Plan, which focuses on equity, access and improved recreational opportunities throughout the city.

“The revitalization of this playground signifies a strong commitment to investing in our neighborhoods,” stated Ryan Davis, Parks & Recreation Director. “We are grateful to Montgomery County for their ongoing support and are proud to provide this upgraded facility to our residents.

A grand opening/ribbon cutting was held on July 23, 2025 with Montgomery County and City officials attending. The playground is now open to the public.
