Five New Officers Sworn in to Miamisburg Police Department

Five Officers being Sworn in at City Council Meeting

During the City Council meeting held on November 4, 2025, five new police officers were officially sworn in. Miamisburg Mayor Michelle Collins administered the oath to all five officers in the front of City Council members, staff, family and friends.

Evan Planck, from Eaton, OH, Caleb Burke, who graduated from Wayne High School and the Miami Valley Career Technology Center and Aaron Dufresne, a graduate of Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School, are all currently enrolled in the police Academy at Butler Tech in Warren County. All three of them are expected to graduate in February 2026. Nate Whitman, who was born in Centerville, OH, is scheduled to graduate from the Sinclair Police Academy on November 19. Christine Sorrell, a graduate of Preble Shawnee High School, attended Sinclair Community College where she studied Criminal Justice. Before joining Miamisburg, Officer Sorrell served for 14 years with the City of Middletown. Officer Sorrell is currently on road patrol with the city.
