City Seeks Community Input for Production Well Project

Posted on January 8, 2026

Crews are working on the Prodution Wells and Water Main Project

The City of Miamisburg is moving forward with significant enhancements to our community’s water system. Construction is currently in progress on two new production wells that will boost the City’s overall water supply. Water extracted from these wells will undergo complete treatment before it enters the system, ensuring that we can continue to meet the needs of our residents and businesses for many years ahead. By strengthening our water infrastructure now, we are maintaining a dependable, high-quality system for the future.

Tackling the aging infrastructure for this project is projected to cost the city $8.4 million, which will be funded through the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account of Ohio’s EPA. In the autumn of 2024, the City of Miamisburg installed two new water production wells at its secondary well field located on Soldiers Home Road. The southern well was drilled to a depth of 142 feet, whereas the northern well reached a depth of 152 feet. These new wells will enhance the city’s water supply, ensuring it can handle peak demands and support future growth. You can observe this process here.
