The City of Miamisburg was recently awarded $100,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds from Montgomery County for the Owner-Occupied Home Rehabilitation Program (OOHRP), with the City contributing an additional $50,000. The program assists low- to moderate-income households with repairs and replacements to essential home systems, such as HVAC, roofs, plumbing, electrical, doors, windows, etc. Handicap accessibility improvements are also eligible.
Since 2017, over 50 owner-occupied households have benefited from the program, helping to stabilize neighborhoods, maintain our housing stock, and keep residents in their homes. With the current wait list exhausted, the City is soliciting applications for new projects. Applicants must own their home, be current on their property taxes, carry a valid insurance policy and be located within the Miamisburg city limits.
Awardees are eligible for up to $10,000 with no requirement for repayment. All construction and inspections are performed by our partner agency, CountyCorp.
“Investing in our community’s housing is key to keeping our neighborhoods healthy and vibrant,” said City Planner Andrew Rodney. “We want to express our gratitude to our partner agencies, Montgomery County and CountyCorp, for their help in running this vital program.”
