The Miamisburg Police Department’s K-9 officer, Bolo, is competing in the “2025 Fur Responders” Photo Challenge, part of the second annual Light Ohio Blue initiative. The Fur Responder Challenge is a statewide competition open to any public safety agency in Ohio that submits a photo of their four-legged officer in one of six population-based categories.
Bolo, an 18-month-old dual-purpose German Shepherd, joined the department last year, replacing the retired K-9 Buck who had served for 6 years. Bolo is partnered with Officer Bryan Klein.
The contest runs until January 31, 2025 at 11 p.m. and the public can vote for their favorite K-9 once per day until it ends. Winners will be recognized in May during Light Ohio Blue week. To cast a vote, visit click here.
